Anyone who rides in the Lakes Region near Lake Winnipesaukee know that there are an amazing number of Route 11s – 11, 11A, 11B, 11C, 11D, and 11E. This route touches 11, 11A, 11B, and 11C routes in a single ride:
This ride is about 18 miles long, and there are some tough hills on 11A. Please use caution if riding this route during peak tourist seasons of Summer and “Leaf Peeping” as there can be quite a bit of traffic (at least for the Lakes Region).
There are several good locations to start this ride. Popular places to start are at the intersection of 11 and 11C (park in the Patrick’s Pub lot), or at Gunstock (lots of parking there).
This ride is simple, just do a loop on 11, 11A, 11B, in either direction, but the hills seem tougher if you go clockwise (11 to 11A to 11B). If you start at the intersection of 11 and 11C, Gunstock is a great place to take a break – beautiful scenery, picnic areas, and fun to just ride around an explore (there is nice mountain biking trails there too. Check out our Off Road / Mountain section for more information).
